The Ho`ao Pili Aloha Ceremony is a custom ceremony
-an adaptation of traditional Ho`ao ancient Hawaiian love nuptials.
Marriage rites are performed using authentic traditional ritual
chants conducted entirely in the Hawaiian language. The ceremony
begins with the beckoning call of the ancient Hawaiian pu (conch
shell) followed by traditional greetings in accordance with ancient
ceremonial protocol.
Benevolent ancient Hawaiian deities of nature representing fertility,
birth and growth, and guardian spirits, are invoked to unite,
bless, and protect the couple with traditional offerings and
Hawaiian wedding prayer chants and blessings.
Along with the traditonal exchange of wedding vows, and rings,
the customary presentation of lei garlands as symbolic tokens
of love culminate the marriage ritual. An official pronouncement
and closing pule or blessing and music concludes the ceremonies.
